VYAS JI

I’ve read almost every mythological book available in India; all religious books, all philosophy, and some portions of the Vedas also; some rishis stand out.
One thing which Vyas Ji did, no one has ever done before. It is written in the Mahabharat that when Dhritarashtra, Gandhari, Kunti, and Vidur – maybe Sanjay also – went to the jungle to do some tapas and just pass their last days, Yudhishthir decided to go there.
So 1.6 billion widows followed him there. You can imagine the sorrow and the atmosphere there: 1.6 billion widows – those who had lost their husbands in the battle – following Yudhishthir.
They found them, and while they were just greeting each other, Vyas Ji came. And He simply said: “I will call every dead person who died in the battle by the bank of the Ganges.”
He went into the water and invoked them. Every dead person who had died in the battle started to come out of the water. It is the biggest miracle I’ve ever heard of.
The whole night they were there, and even all those Kauravas and Pandavas were seeing each other, and very friendly they were talking the whole night.
Then, in the early morning, when the cock crowed, Vyas Ji said: “Any woman who loves her husband can go with her husband.”
All the ladies, when they started to go into the water, jumped in with them. And then it is said that they were sent with their husbands to different dimensions, wherever they were going.
This miracle stands alone. I’ve never, ever come across any similar episode.
When this story was told to Janamejaya, he doubted it. Vyas Ji was there, and in one second He called his father there. Just like that!
No other rishi has done it. They have performed great miracles, but to call 1.6 million dead people and send their wives with them – unheard of.
I think it was the biggest miracle. So we respect Vyas Ji and hope He will bless us.
